These standings are based upon the contest results posted on the SSA server.

  • 21 January, 2008: A number of additions made.
  • 18 January, 2008: Calculation of Category I pilots improved to include Nationals medalists whose Nationals ranking was not their best of the year.
  • 17 January, 2008: Standings for future years included.
  • 16 January, 2008: Indication of preliminary status for contests without completed paperwork removed.
  • 15 January, 2008: Team rankings take into account the 75% rule for individuals and maintain a separate ranking for the team.
  • 14 January, 2008: Regional Sports class weighting corrected. Contingency of rankings for contests without completed documentation removed.
  • 13 January, 2008: First hack at 2008 rankings.
  • 01 May, 2007: Problem with the selectable list for contest organizers fixed, thanks to a 'heads up' from John Godfrey.
  • 01 November, 2006: Non-resident status corrected for several Nationals participants.

  • 22 November, 2006: First public release of 2007 rankings. All contest results accepted as official.
  • 22 January, 2006: 2003 corrected for 2-day regionals.

  • 19 January, 2006: 18 Meter Nationals included.
  • 18 January, 2006: 2006 PRL, and provisional 2007 and 2008 PRL's added.
  • 18 March, 2005: Title changed to "Pilot Ranking List for US Contests" thanks to a suggestion from Carmen Waters.
  • 03 November, 2004: 2003 Motor Glider Nationals added.   Non-permanent residents rankings for prior years checked.
  • 22 October, 2004: 2005 results removed pending receipt of the contest documentation from organizers.
  • 16 October, 2004: A selectable list for contest organizers added. Non-permanent residents flagged for preferential entry into nationals.
  • 09 October, 2004: 2004 contest year rankings restored. Contingent flag for Medallion winners promotion to Category 1 verified. Comma and tab separated formats for SSA mailing and online poll redone, including accent translation.
  • 08 October, 2004: Preliminary 2006 and 2007 contest year rankings added.
  • 08 October, 2004: Short contests weighted appropriately.
  • 07 October, 2004: Medallion winners promotion to Category 1 recoded. Contingent categories highlighted.
  • 06 October, 2004: 2004 contests included added.
  • 04 October, 2004: First release of 2005 rankings.
  • 15 November, 2003: Problem with the names in the 2003 15 Meter Class Nationals fixed thanks to a 'heads up' from Liz Schwenkler.
  • 28 October, 2003: acro server back online.
  • 27 October, 2003: 2003 Region 11 North Standard added.
  • 26 October, 2003: Number of contestants form multiple contests per document.
  • 25 October, 2003: 2001, 2002, 2003 completely redone with 1200 name adjustments... There are still some that are ambiguous, if not outright wrong.
  • 24 October, 2003: Provisional rankings for 2005 and 2006 included.
  • 21 October, 2003: Filenames changed to reflect that they apply to a contest year [the ranking year], not the last year that contributes to the ranking.
  • 17 October, 2003: Provisional 2004 Ranking List put online. Teams in Regionals re-established, those in the Nationals removed from the Ranking, although their scores still included in establishing number of contestants and rankings of valid entries.
  • 23 June, 2003: Provision for one-year extension for contest officials incorporated.
  • 22 March, 2003: Team rankings removed, per the Contest Committee. Number of pilots in each category added. Searchable version temporarily removed.
  • 02 March, 2003: IGC rankings for USA pilots extracted.
  • 04 November, 2002: Everything redone, to tie names to contest ID's, and a few additional name/number cleanups were made.
  • 20 October, 2002: Provision for two-day regionals included, and Region 5 South World Class included.   Additional name/number cleanups.
  • 19 October, 2002: Several name and SSA number changes.   Everything redone.
  • 17 October, 2002: Searchable version updated for rules changes.
  • 16 October, 2002: Categories corrected and completely redone with links to the contributing contest installed, thanks to a 'heads up' from Mark Navarre.   Listing of contests corrected to display multiple contests in a region, thanks to 'heads up's from Bob Hills and Frank Reid.
  • 15 October, 2002: Guest pilot listing added.
  • 14 October, 2002: Air Sailing Sports added for 2001 and 2000, SSA membership numbers updated, and documentation on weighting updated.
  • 13 October, 2002: Guest and deceased pilots removed. Western Seniors included. Lots of changes under the hood for the treatement of SSA membership numbers. Weighting of the Sports Class Nationals corrected for the 2002 rules change, thanks to a 'heads up' from Dan Cole.
  • 12 October, 2002: Remaining contests entered, and many more name corrections entered.
  • 11 October, 2002: Teams separated, and many name corrections entered.
  • 10 October, 2002: Listings of the contests used for each year in the rankings developed.
  • 09 October, 2002: First cut at the 2003 rankings.
  • 03 February, 2002: Alphabetical listing added, and years other the 2002 updated. Medallions in earlier years are not yet correct.
  • 01 February, 2002: Got medallions winners for all Nationals.
  • 31 January, 2002: Still more name corrections. Added draft Categories.
  • 27 January, 2002: Still more name corrections. Added numerical order for organizers.
  • 07 September, 2001: First stab at this, thanks to a suggestion from François Pin.
